Who Can Become a Mason?

Freemasonry is open to good men from all walks of life. While each jurisdiction may have its own guidelines, the core expectations are simple:

• You are at least 18 years of age

• You believe in a higher power (no specific religion required)

• You are of good moral character and reputation

• You are joining of your own free will—not by invitation or pressure

• You have a sincere desire to grow, learn and contribute

These values are consistent across Masonic lodges and emphasize character, integrity, and personal motivation rather than background or status.

How the Process Works

Becoming a Mason is a thoughtful and meaningful journey—not something rushed. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Express Your Interest

Reach out to us through our contact form or attend one of our public events. This is your opportunity to meet members and ask questions.

2. Get to Know the Lodge

We’ll invite you to spend time with our members so you can better understand who we are and what we do. This step ensures it’s the right fit—for you and for us.

3. Submit a Petition

If you decide to move forward, you’ll complete a membership application. This formally begins your journey.

4. Meet with Members

A small group of lodge members will meet with you to learn more about your intentions and answer any questions you may have.

5. Lodge Vote

After careful consideration, the lodge will vote on your petition.

6. Begin Your Masonic Journey

If accepted, you will be initiated and begin progressing through the degrees of Freemasonry—each one designed to teach valuable lessons about life, character, and brotherhood.
